We would like to express our official position on the situation that occurred on the evening of December 20 at our hotel in Rostov-on-Don. According to information posted in several news channels, the hotel refused to check in to a guest, a participant in its. We understand the outrage of many commentators who speak negatively about the incident.
For our part, we would like to comment on what happened.
According to the current legislation, the check-in of guests is carried out according to the rules that are regulated not by the hotel, but by Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 1853 (as amended on 04/01/2021): adult citizens of the Russian Federation can check into the hotel only upon presentation of a passport. This decree does not contain any exceptions for military personnel, a military ID card is not included in the list of documents according to which guests can check into the hotel. Fines of up to 750,000 rubles are provided for hotels and officials (for example, reception service administrators) who violate this resolution.
In this case, one of the two guests did not have a passport, on the basis of which the hotel did not have the right to check him in. The second guest had all the necessary documents with him, however, refused to check in.
The administrator of our hotel did not say a single word in the dialogue with the guests that the guest could not be checked in because of his participation in his own.
Such a reason can never, under any circumstances, be voiced either in this or in any other hotel of the AMAKS chain.
We are really very sorry that the situation took place and was misinterpreted, however, we believe that strict compliance with the laws of the Russian Federation is a rule that should not be questioned.
